Born on 9th September 1963.Graduateded from the shool of law at the University of Tokyo in 1987. Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo(1987-1990).Full Professor of law at Hokkaido University(1990-1999). Professor at Department of Civil Law, School of Law, Hokkaido University(since 2000). Leader of the 21st Century COE Program "The Law and Policy of Intellectual Property: Building a New Global Framework"(since 2003).Council member of Association for the Copyright（since 2004）.Visiting research fellow at the Center for Studies of Intellectual Property Rights at the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law（since2005）.Editor board for the Journals of National Tsing Hua University（since2005）.Leader of the 21st Century COE Program "The Law and Policy of Intellectual Property: Building a New Global Framework" .
