As the world important producer and consumer of energy, the China-US alliance is attached great significance to promote global energy technology research and application. Huazhong University of Science and Technology participated in building a joint US-China Clean Energy Research Center from 2009 as the lead of the third subordinate alliance- Advanced Coal Technology Alliance. Professor Yu Xiang, as the charge of intellectual property team in Advanced Coal Technology Alliance, led the team to negotiate with the IP team from United States. In unremitting efforts, the two sides have signed a Technology Management Plan (TMP) for scientific and technological cooperation. Professor Yu Xiang is now leading the IP research team to work with the U.S. partners to develop a IP Sharing, utilization and technology transfer guide.
