The team of Chinese-German Institute for Intellectual Property attended “The project launch conference of China-EU NZEC preliminary feasibility study and support research projects" in Beijing

On January 16 to January 17 ,2014, “The project launch conference of China-EU NZEC preliminary feasibility study and support research projects", organized by the 21st century agenda center ,ministry of science and technology of China, was held in Beijing. This conference aims to promote the cooperation of China-EU nearly zero emission coal project (NZEC), and strengthen the cooperation and communication between the preliminary feasibility study projects and support research projects. The meeting concentrated on the future work plans、project output、communication mechanism, and results integration for communication and discussion. The team of Chinese-German Institute for Intellectual Property (CGIIP) consisted of five doctoral and postdoctoral researchers attended this conference. They submitted the research and participated in discussion during the conference.

On January 16 morning, the director of global environment bureau ,21st century agenda center, Jiu tian Zhang first made a speech at the meeting which briefly introduced the significance of NZEC cooperation projects, and he pointed out the key problems in NZEC cooperation projects that need to be paid attention to. Then the reporters of the three preliminary feasibility study projects (Shengli oilfield, Yuhuan Electric power plant, Tianjin lingang IGCC) and four support research projects (cost accounting and financing mechanism, intellectual property and technology transfer, risk management and public acceptance, strategies、laws and regulations), introduced the project progress and future work plan in turn.

The postdoctoral researcher Dr. Liu Shan and researcher Dr. Wei Feng from Wuhan Documentation and Information Center jointly represented the support project team ("intellectual property rights, sharing mechanism and technology transfer") introduced the research contents、 current research progress and the next step of work plans, and answered the questions from experts on the scene. At the same time, the experts expanded a heated discussion on the intellectual property problems in preliminary feasibility study projects.

On 17 January morning, the project teams further sorted out research problems that were discussed on the day before, negotiated the solutions, listed the output segmentation and time nodes of each projects, summarized the key research points of each projects, and had a discussion on the working mechanism.

The project launch conference was hosted by Dr. Zhang Xian from the 21st century agenda center. The meeting successfully concluded on the afternoon of January 17.
