Between June 21st and 24th, our Chinese-German Intellectual Property Research Institute, including Professor Yu Xiang, deputy party secretary Zhou Zhijiao were invited to go to Heidelberg University of Applied Science (SRH) to participate in the seminar "Chinese investment in Germany", the third Sino German seminar on cultural differences and the commercial law seminar.
At June 21st, our delegation arrived in Heidelberg. On behalf of the department of social science and law of the Heidelberg University of Applied Science, Dean Baumeister Peters welcomed us warmly. He expressed his hope that this visit will strengthen the exchange and cooperation between our two universities even more.
At June 22nd, the third Sino German Seminar on cultural differences and Business Law was held. The meeting was chaired by professor Christoph Schärtl of the Department of social science and law.
Professor Yu Xiang gave a speech on the topic "The IP Risk and its Countermeasures for Chinese Enterprises Investments in Germany”.
German representatives explained in detail German traditions and history and pointed out that the historical origin of the current German political economic and cultural system, the teachers and students in our college of German history and culture have a more intuitive and in-depth understanding, and thus the discovery and cultural heritage of the position and attitude of the German people.
Deputy Secretary Zhou Zhijiao briefly introduced our university and college, the training initiatives and the directions in talent management. He invited German students to visit our university. Our students gave a presentation on the "Insights of Chinese Culture" from the traditional culture, customs, diet introduces, and the cultural soft power. Afterwards there was a lively discussion with the teachers and students. The German teachers and students showed great interest in the Chinese culture.
At June 23rd, the seminar continued with some presentations made by our students. They first introduced our countrys economy, science and technology of soft power, and then gave presentations about the "Chinese Investment in Germany" theme, in Nanjing, Huang Ziyang, Yang Xi, Liu Xin, Li Antai in the "the Risks of Copyright Import and Export----Cases of TV Formats" and "From Made in China to Created in China---the view of HUAWEIs IP Strategy", "The Rush Registration About Chinese Well-known Trademark In Germany", "Investing 3D Printing in China from a patent view", "Made in China 2025 and German Industry 4 The Biggest Chinese M&A in Germany”.
Five students were from the TV program copyright infringement risk, with HUAWEIs intellectual property rights strategy "China manufacturing" to "create China" transformation, A Well-Known Trademark in China with Germany cybersquatting strategy, "3D" in Chinese printing industrial application prospect and market potential, China Chemical Group acquired the German manufacturer Krauss Maffei case five aspects of teachers and students with the German side to share their cultural differences in Sino German commercial law and traditional thinking, and the corresponding discussion with the German students.
During a meeting, Professor Yu Xiang and Deputy Secretary Zhou Zhijiao together with Professor Carolin Sutter, visited the relevant departments of the school and discussed further exchanges and cooperation with Germany.
The Heidelberg University of Applied Science has a good communication history with us. In 2010, the two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation on the basis of intellectual property, business and management research, education and scientific research cooperation. The department of social science and law were invited to visit the School of Management in Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2014 and 2015, to attend a seminar on cultural differences between China and Germany and the one on commercial law. Both sides made great efforts to increase the cooperation of the schools in the fields of science and technology management, and intellectual property rights in a detailed and in-depth academic communication. This seminar was the first one our school attended in Germany.
The seminar was held to further promote mutual understanding, strengthen the cooperation of our department with Germany, but also promote the expansion of Bilateral Symposiums, in order to produce greater achievements.
