January, 2003: Prof. Xiang YU, School of Management, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship endowed by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship is the highest level scholarship in Germany and of great academic reputation globally.

Prof. Xiang YU has been engaged in research on intellectual property related to international trade and intellectual property strategic theory and application focusing on corporation patent strategy. He has published over 30 papers in International and Chinese Journals in English, Germany and Chinese. With the comparative study on typical legislation and judiciary in the USA and Europe, he has given constructive suggestions to the Chinese legislation and judiciary.

With the financial assistance of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Prof. Xiang YU participated in a study on the New Development of International Intellectual Property and its influence on Chinese Intellectual Property System.
