June 26th, 2005: Invited by the Hitotsubashi University, Prof. Xiang YU, Director, Chinese-Germany Institute of Intellectual Property, attended an international seminar on “The Exhausttion of Intellectual property”. He delivered a speech titled “Exhaustion and trade between developed and developing countries-China as an example”.
Academics from high ranking universities and institutes attended this seminar, e.g. Tokyo University, Hokkaido University, Waseda University, Hitotsubashi University, Senshu University, Tokyo institute of technology, University of Tsukuba, Kobe University, Yokohama National University, Policy University, University of Duisburg-Essen and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, etc. Researchers, judges, and intellectual property managers from Max Plank Institute for Intellectual Property, Japan Superior Court, Japan Patent Office and Japan Sony Corporation also attended the seminar.
During this period (June 25 ~ July 2), Prof. Xiang YU exchanged views on teaching of intellectual property, challenges in the IP field faced by Asia, and future cooperation possibility.
