Invited by the Korean Intellectual Property Protection Association（KIPRA）, Prof. Xiang Yu, Director, Chinese-German Institute of Intellectual Property, attended the 2009 International Forum on Intellectual Property Rights held in Korea on November 17^th as a forum speaker. Professor Xiang Yu gave a presentation entitled "Patent Enforcement in China and its Update".

Participants from different regions of the globe presented their reports in front of the assembly including China Mainland, United States, European Union, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea etc. The participants analyzed and compared the implementation of intellectual property protection and its latest development in their regions respectively. The speakers were warmly welcomed by nearly 300 attendees including officials from KIPO, academic institutions and attorney companies.

Prof. Xiang Yu exchanged deeply and extensively with academic representatives from Yonsei University, Kyung Hee University and Hanyang University, officials from KIPO, and peers from Korean Intellectual Property Protection Association (KIPRA) and many companies. This has promoted the mutual understanding between the intellectual property department of our institute and peers from Korea and other countries. It has laid a strong foundation for the further development and strengthening of the subsequent connection and cooperation.
