On June 9, 2014, at the invitation of Prof.Yu Xiang, director of Chinese-German institute for intellectual property(CGIIP), school of management，the vice president of Belgium université catholique de Louvain and the director of Louvain Technology Transfer Office(LTTO) Prof.Benoît Macq visited the school of management and gave a lecture named “Creative Hub for boosting international open innovation”. Prof.Yu hosted this lecture. In addition to academic exchange in this visit, Prof. Macq also hoped to promote Multidimensional cooperation between UCL and HUST, as well as educational research and practical cooperation between CGIIP and LTTO in intellectual property, technological innovation and technology transfer.

At the lecture, Prof. Macq introduced Louvain Ecosystem in université catholique de Louvain and explained open innovation model in details by comparing closed innovation principles with open innovation model. On top of that, he introduced IP issues and how these issues are solved in the process of open innovation in UCL. At last, Prof. Macq concluded that: An innovative eco-system relies on incubation, open-innovation space (e.g. science parks) and Creative hub.

After the lecture, prof. Macq answered the questions from audience patiently and won warmest applause. The audience included not only the students from the management school and law school in HUST, but also examiners from Patent examination cooperation Hubei center of the patent office, SIPO and patent agents from Beijing DaCheng law office(Wuhan).
