Prof. Dr. Jerzy Pisuliński is Professor of Law and Head of the Chair of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, and Chairperson of the Commission on Law of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (PAU). He served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration from 2008 to 2016 and as Dean from 2016 to 2024. From 2006 to 2015, he was a member of the Civil Law Codification Commission under the Polish Minister of Justice, serving as its Vice-Chair from 2011 to 2015. He was also a member of the European Commission’s Expert Group on European Contract Law from 2010 to 2011 and participated in the work of the Acquis Group on European private law.

Professor Pisuliński is a distinguished Polish scholar of civil law and European private law, with extensive research in contract law, property law, consumer law, banking law, succession law, and European private law. His work has appeared in leading specialist European law journals, including the European Review of Contract Law and the Journal of European Consumer and Market Law. He has also been actively involved in the reform of Polish civil law and in European private law research, and enjoys substantial academic influence in Poland and across Europe.
