Prof. Dr. Ansgar Ohly is currently Professor and Chair of Private Law, Intellectual Property Law and Competition Law at the Faculty of Law, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich). He is also a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, a Visiting Senior Member of St Peter’s College, Oxford, and an Honorary Bencher of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. In addition, he has long been involved in teaching and research at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) and has also served as a Guest Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Prof. Dr. Ansgar Ohly is a leading European scholar in the field of intellectual property law. His research covers patent law, copyright law, trademark law, unfair competition law, trade secret protection, personality rights and privacy protection, with particular emphasis on the harmonization and unification of European intellectual property law and comparative research between continental European legal systems and the common law tradition. He has conducted extensive teaching and research in intellectual property and competition law, authored and edited numerous academic publications, and actively participated in European and international scholarly exchanges. His work has earned him substantial academic recognition and influence in the fields of European intellectual property law and comparative intellectual property law.
